Attention piege franco-anglais !
En francais : 1 billion = 1 000 milliards (10¹²)
En anglais : 1 billion = 1 milliard (10⁹)
C'est un "faux ami" mathematique qui cause beaucoup de confusions dans les medias !

2. Lire les grands nombres

Exemple : 3,457,892
→ three million, four hundred and fifty-seven thousand, eight hundred and ninety-two

Exemple : 12,000,000
→ twelve million

Exemple : 2,500,000,000
→ two billion five hundred million ou two and a half billion

3. Les numeros de telephone

En anglais, les numeros de telephone se lisent chiffre par chiffre.

Astuce : Quand deux chiffres identiques se suivent, on peut dire "double" : 77 = "double seven", 00 = "double oh". En UK, trois chiffres identiques : 555 = "triple five".
