Les Ordinaux en anglais

Guide complet : first, second, third et les ordinaux reguliers. Focus sur third (3e).

1. Regle generale

Les ordinaux en anglais s'obtiennent en ajoutant -th au nombre cardinal, sauf pour les trois premiers qui sont irreguliers :

• one → first (1st)
• two → second (2nd)
• three → third (3rd)
• four → fourth (4th)
• ...etc.

Dates : the third of May, May the third, May 3rd.

Etages : I live on the third floor.

Classements : He finished third in the race.

Fractions : A third of students passed.

Reignes : Richard the Third (Richard III).
